Ecological restoration takes more than passion—it requires the right supplies, tools, and equipment. If you believe in our work and want to make a tangible difference, the items listed below directly support our restoration efforts and help us work more safely, efficiently, and effectively in the field. Your support helps turn conservation goals into real, lasting impact.
Before purchasing any of these items, please contact Damon Moore at damon@oysterriverecology.org to ensure the item has not already been acquired and to confirm current priority needs. This helps us make the best use of your generosity.
We use these to move heavy bags of cement in the warehouse safely. We need two of them. See this link for more info.
We need one of these for trailer maintenance and repairs. See this link for more info.
It gets hot in there! Help us stay cool with these fans! We need 4 of them. See this link for more info.
We quite literally need thousands of them. This link shows the ones we are using.
Also need thousands of these. This link shows the ones we are using.
We purchase these in batches of 20,000 for a significant bulk discount. This link shows the ones we are using.
We purchase this material from Lowe’s or Home Depot, depending on the specific mix needed (for volunteer events or in-shop production). At our current production rate, we use approximately 1,800 pounds per week. Because we do not have adequate bulk storage, we must pick up loads every other day. Gift cards would be greatly appreciated to help offset this ongoing cost. We spend about $900/week on cement.
Our volunteer teams achieve remarkable results in removing invasive species across the landscape. The primary constraint on scaling this impact is the need for better solutions to process the substantial biomass produced, especially from invasive pepper trees. This link shows the brush chipper that would make us an absolute force of nature when it comes to freeing native habitats from the grips of invasive species.
Our upland restoration projects often take place in hard-to-reach locations and require a dependable, workhorse utility vehicle. Whether navigating storm-impacted beach dunes or accessing dwindling remnants of rare Florida scrub habitat, this vehicle would greatly expand our capacity to carry out upland habitat restoration and deliver meaningful benefits for local wildlife. If someone wanted to make that happen, the Kawasaki Mule 4010 is what we would get.
